Today, we going know a great king and great devote of lord shiva and king of lanka, is non other than shree Ravana maharaj.

The king Ravana who belong to the family of asura.
Asura are the people who will torcher the people for enjoy most saying are like Asura kill the man and eat.
Even Ravana is a asura but a very good king of Lanka (Sri Lanka).
*He learn all the vedas and upanishids.
*He is very big devote of  lord shiva.

Once he kidnap sita mata and arrest in his palace. The Rama husband of sita mata. go out in the forest (JUNGLE) in search of sita mata. At final Rama get the location of sita mata and Ravana asura.
Rama fight with Ravana and Rama kill the Ravana with the help of vibhishana brother of Ravana.
In the occations win of the evil. we celebrate as a festival.
This festival is also called as Dusserha.
The meaning of Dusserha. Duss=ten, ser=head, hara=kill. That is kill ten headed.
